Easter might just be my favorite religious holiday, because it feels a lot like New Years. There's a lot of prep, resolution-making and even a countdown. And at the end of it all, you feel brand new.... washed clean.
Holy Week, to me, is a reminder that sometimes things have to die in order for them to be reborn. And that includes us. Sometimes we have to die to ourselves, our desires, our jobs, our friendships, our relationships... before we can be reborn or see real change in our life. Easter has always been like another New Year, a reset button of sorts.
Hence, the floral print, pinks and whites!
Now you know I couldn't drop some dresses and not name them after my favorite, ever.
Selena 'sta 'qui!
Would you believe me if I told you I've never owned any African print clothing items?
I've always admired the roles African prints play in different cultures, traditions and occasions. In many countries across the continent, textiles and prints play a large role in identifying subcultures, marking an important event and bringing energies and spirits into the lives of the people that don them. While admiring from afar, I've been searching for a way to incorporate African prints into my wardrobe in a way that is effortless and affordable.
Thankfully, SK&CO Trends hooked your girl UP and is hooking y'all up too!
I know you were expecting a countdown, but we're not going out like that this time. This time, we're counting up.
As I turn 26 and reflect on what that number actually means, I realize we've all been doing it wrong.
I've always been a fan of both Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka'oir, so I'm definitely in favor of this union. While I would die before I let a guest wear a drop of white on my wedding day, I admire Keyshia for taking the Knowles-route (both Beyonce and Solange had attendees dress in all-white). I live to see people of chocolate in all-white.
Can you imagine being in that room? I can, and here's what I would be wearing if I was.
Welcome to the 4th Quarter. Apply pressure.
There's something about the 4th Quarter, the last 3 months of the year, that applies, and forces me to apply, an undeniable pressure. It might be the changing seasons, the fact that I was born right in the middle of it or the impending end of the year. Regardless of your motivation, the 4th Quarter is where the game is won. Get in, and apply pressure.
That's exactly what we're doing right hurr.
"I don't Playboy, I ain't Hugh Hefner..."
Hugh Hefner is dead and I feel a way.
So, what better way to remember the real-life Casanova than with a sexy, fall date night look? I'm talking robes, sheer, fur, sparkle... come on!
Y'all, I've been really obsessed with green lately. And I do mean that in every sense of the word.Read More
"You was in La Marina all summer"
That's not quite the case, but I did finally make it to Loso's favorite NYC hotspot this summer! I've been meaning to hit up Dyckman's infamous beach lounge for a few years, and this summer presented me with the perfect excuse.
Which became the perfect reason to wear this outfit. Duh.Read More
I'm seriously all about ultra-feminine and flirty looks this season. Summer '17 is giving me serious modern-day A Midsummer Night's Dream vibes.
Before I get all Shakespearian on you, let me put it in layman's terms: give me all the whites, ruffles and florals.
I was never a huge fan of floral print (put the torches and pitchforks down), until I figured out the trick to choosing a print that works for me.Read More
Everyone's always showing love to the ever-popular LBD, but when it comes to key wardrobe pieces for the summer, our go-to just doesn't cut it.
With all the boat parties and All-White events (thanks a lot, Puff Daddy) I get invited to in the summer, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect LWD; that's Little White Dress to you.Read More
I have a saying that I pretty much live by. It's my go-to response when people tell me that I seem to be "living the life," but also a reminder to myself.
*cue Kendrick Lamar, Humble*
It isn't a new concept, but in today's era of Social Media and doing what I do, putting it this way really makes the overall message relatable.Read More

I was never a huge fan of a traditional white-collared shirt. Something about it made me feel like I was going on an interview, no matter what I paired it with. As trends have evolved and fashion has gotten more daring, however, I've find new and alternative styles that have shifted my perspective on this classic, wardrobe staple.Read More
The off-the-shoulder trend has pretty much taken over all 4 seasons for the past year or so, and it doesn't seem to be relinquishing control anytime soon. As we continue to [kind of] transition into Spring, I thought it would be helpful to show you one very trendy top styled 3 very chic ways. Although the looks are similar, they each give off a different vibe and can we worn for a different occasion.Read More
"50 inch screen, money green leather sofa..."
That's what I thought of when I walked out with this outfit on.
We often associate green with colder seasons, like Winter and Fall, but it's a great color to help transition your wardrobe and style into the warmer seasons. It is pretty warm in NYC this weekend, but since we aren't out of the clear just yet, I decided to layer this look a bit more.Read More
Hey friend. Can we talk for a minute? There's something I need to tell you.
I've been wearing sneakers.
I know, I know. But I can't help myself! Let me explain....
I've been wanting to get into the sneaker game for the past few years, but never found a pair I truly loved and could actually find. So when I visited the Nike Outlet a few months ago, I picked up one sensible pair and one loud pair and, well, here we are.Read More
At this current moment, the end of one of the busiest and most hectic weekends I've had in a long time, I feel the most blessed and grateful. Not because it's over, but because I was there.
Gearing up for the launch of Rupture Marketing, of which I am a co-founder, I traveled to Washington, D.C. to work with the Embassy to Haiti. After 20 hours of work and packing, 4 hours of driving, 3 rest stops and a 30-minute nap at a service area in Maryland, I arrived and dove into a packed schedule and a busy city. I went straight to work.Read More
By now we should be knee-deep in knee-highs and wrapping ourselves in the thickest knit sweaters mankind has ever known. Instead, it's 80 degrees and I for one, am confused. For lack of a better (less-offensive) term, this Indian summer is not for me. Mother Nature, you're playing games.Read More
