Okay. We started this challenge slow, and I gave you gals time to get in groove, but it's time to turn it up a notch.
Today's item of the day was the Pencil Skirt. Talk about going from day to night. If you really want versatility in your wardrobe, the pencil skirt is the way to go. Take it from the office, to the bar, to dinner, and to date night with a few east tweaks. Go for it with bold prints, fabrics like lace or leather and details like pockets or asymmetrical hems! You can also play around with lengths, depending on your office culture, and classic or bodycon cuts. Pencil skirts are great for every body type- there’s a reason why they’re considered a staple!
Here, I'm keeping it super simple with the color palette, and introducing flair and details in the accessories. The wide sleeves of this crop top add depth to an otherwise pretty regular piece. Despite the fact that this is a crop top and there is skin showing (hey belly button!), the sophistication of the high neckline and wide sleeves makes this top super chic.
This skirt is one of my favorites. The length is unexpected for a shorter gal like myself, and you know I love shock value. The split is what saves it from overpowering my frame.
As for the accessories, well, it's all in the details. This statement necklace does exactly that-- makes a statement. The aged silver and hints of black add dimension without gaudiness. I love the modern touch of silver "fringe."
These white mules are in line with the simplicity and clean feel of this look, but the clear strap detail and thin heel keep it from becoming mundane.
