I’m serving straight 80’s baby realness in today’s two- for- one outfit post!
Tell me this outfit is not straight out of a scene from Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead!
I absolutely LOVE blazers without lapels! Something about them is so clean, feminine and chic. Without lapels, the neckline is uncluttered and undisturbed, eliminating that boxy “office” look that traditional blazers give. Plus it adds interest to your look!
This particular bright red lapel-less blazer is from…..yep, you guessed it! The thrift store. The color is so vibrant and the details (buttons, stitching, etc) are impeccable! I’ve accumulated quite a few of these blazers from the thrift store in the past few years and I must say, they are my favorites. The quality is unbeatable and you’ll rarely be worried about someone wearing the same thing as you.
I decided to show two different options for this blazer, just to show how versatile this type of blazer can be. In both outfits, I paired the blazer with a simple white cami, a basic that everyone should have in their closet! I like this one because it has a slight sweetheart neckline.
Coco Note: I get mine from Forever 21 for $1.80. A dollar. And eighty cents. Say what?!
The first look is a fall brunch- appropriate look. I paired the blazer with black jeans, brown booties, a leopard print scarf and my Rebecca Minkoff black and gold MAC. This is perfect for a dinner date, brunch with the girls or a lunch meeting.
Part two of this post is an example of a quick way to turn a casual into a more dressy look! To make it easier, I kept the color palette the same. I swapped my jeans and booties for this black Michael Kors circle skirt and nude pumps. I kept the purse and scarf to add print to the look.
Which look is your favorite?
