It's Throwback Thursday and we're throwing it back to Sunday! It's no secret that Sunday is my favorite day of the week. @@It is the day of the Lord, and this is the slay the Lord has made.@@
@@Black and white will forever be classic. but darling, welcome to The New Classic.@@
Coco Note: No Iggy Azealia.
Get into this less-than-$100 slay.
Yes, this entire look cost me less than $100, and if you know me, you know where this is headed....straight to the thrift store. Except I didn't have to actually go to the thrift store to get these pieces.
This white blazer (no lapels, just how I like it!) features thick black stripes diagonally placed across the chest that point towards the center of my abdomen, creating the illusion of a curvy figure and making the waist a focal point. The blazer is light-weight, so it's perfect for all seasons.
I purchased this blazer from an online thrift store called DivaXpress. The pieces are curated, or handpicked by the owner and buyer of the site. This vintage piece was shipped straight to my door for a fabulous price (less than $10!). It's in great condition and I didn't have to leave my house!
Coco Note: Full video and haul coming soon!
Let's discuss these pants, which weren't pants to begin with. Could you believe that I don't own a pair of loose-fitting black trousers? I do not.
Little known fact about me, I love to cut things.
Okay wait, I didn't mean it like that. What I mean is, I love taking a piece and turning it into something different, just by taking away a bit of material!
I had an old thrift store-purchased Stella McCartney jumpsuit that fit like a dream, but was a bit tattered at the top. Soooooo, I cut it! Yes, I cut the Stella.
Coco Note: "Them pieces way too old, you need to cut it!"
Yup, I cut that jumpsuit and turned it into some pants. And it worked.
@@Coco Note: Don't be afraid to repurpose your old clothing. Even clothes can be reincarnated.@@
Thanks Dad, for the mouth-open pictures. Oh hey, Onyx! (my car)
I wanted to juxtapose the v-neck created by the laps of the blazer with a high crew-neck top, but all I had was this top with sheer and fabric cut outs. So I wore a sheer top to church. But in my defense, all of the important parts were covered!
@@Coco Note: Jesus forgives, so should you!@@
I added gold and black accessories to keep the look simple, but not basic! This leather and gold rope necklace is actually an old bag handle that I removed and decided was better as a necklace.
Coco Note: Told you, re-purposing is my thing!
My black patent leather pumps were also a steal, purchased for $25 from the clearance section at DSW!
