Somebody said this look was basic.
I know what you're thinking, how dare they, right? Relax, that's not what they meant! Given the new stigma against the word "basic," when discussing essential wardrobe pieces, I propose we make a change! I prefer "staple," "necessity," or, my personal favorite, "basis."
Your "basic" clothing items are the basis of your wardrobe. In this look, I combined a few basic pieces to create an easy, winter look.
1. The Trench Coat
I love this modern twist on a classic trench. The leather sleeves and gold details are the perfect additions to this very "basic" piece. And, I got it at the thrift! This purse was also thrifted!
Check out my video on how to thrift successfully here.
2. Black on Black
This part's easy. All I did was take a simple black turtleneck (because it's cold and my daddy said I need it *shrug*) and pair it with a black pair of jeans. Viola! All black errthang!
3. The Black Bootie
This particular cowgirl-esque bootie might not be for everyone, but you cannot deny the necessity of a black, heeled bootie with some detail in winter!
4. The Hat
Every lady owns a hat. Some of us, *cough* ME *cough*, might own several. This black, wide-brimmed hat is my bad-hair-day go-to. It adds elegance and really pulls a look together.
