Why do we all hate Mondays so much? Does anyone else ever wonder how Monday became the bad guy? Why not Tuesday or Saturday? Poor Monday.
I'm fighting off this week's Monday blues by literally making it a Blue Monday- and a fabulous one at that! I decided to dress neck-to-ankle (get it, not head-to-toe? hahaha) in 50 shades of blue.
Coco Note: It's more like 3, but stay with me.
Would you believe me if I said I'm in love...with this thrifted pantsuit! I actually thrifted this pantsuit at two separate times, in two separate stores, in two separate cities!
Coco Note: A tale of two cities or nah?
I purchased the pants from my favorite thrift store here in NYC and I got the blazer while thrifting with my aunt in Boston. To my surprise, the fabric and color of the pieces matched perfectly.
Coco Note: Watch my video on How To Thrift Successfully here.
I love a great pantsuit and this one is perfect for the cold weather because of the thick wool-like material.
I paired the suit with a while and blue striped button-up shirt. I love that this shirt has a crew-neck collar, as opposed to a traditional collar. It gives that OG look that I love and goes perfectly with a bawsy suit like this one. This blouse also has a blue pattern on the cuffs of the sleeves, on the front pocket, and around the neckline, which adds dimension and texture to this otherwise boring look.
To play up the blue (and for added warmth), I added my favorite blanket scarf in a blue, gray and black geometric print. This scarf is huge and so soft and warm. The pattern also helps break up the monotony of this monochrome look. I added a purse with a similar color palette and print. This tote bag is perfect for the office because it call hold many files and folders, and has fringe details to keep it trendy.
Just for kicks and to break up the blue, I paired this look with my favorite neutral: leopard print pumps.
Coco Note: Say it with me: Leopard print is a neutral!
If you're a true NYC girl like myself, feel free to swap out the pumps for a leopard print or nude flat!
Coco Note: Shhh! I wore this look with leopard print flats!
