On the 13th day, there was a slay.
Funny thing about me, I love a good theme. Give me a theme and I will go as hard as possible.
I was invited to a Gatsby-themed 30th birthday party this weekend. Being that The Great Gatsby is my favorite book, it was only right that I do it big for the G-man.
This outfit is definitely a lesson in keeping key pieces and statement pieces. I've had this fringe dress since a high school performance and could never bring myself to let it go.
Coco Note: I've planned on dressing as Tina Turner for Halloween for at least 5 years now.
The Roaring '20s were all about glitz and glam (pre-Depression, of course), so a sparkling headpiece was a must. Since I was literally putting this look together at the last minute (i'm talking same day, #teamprocrastinate), I knew I wasn't going to find a full headpiece. In true gawdess form, I hit up the thrift store in search of a scalloped necklace. I found this one for $5.99.
What would Daisy have worn if Gatsby had his parties during winter? Fur, of course. while at my favorite thrift store, I copped this long, black fur coat, which also has a leather belt to cinch at your waist. It does have a few tears, but it was a steal at just $25!!
