Y'all. Fall is so close I can smell the Chai.
What would a week of work outfits be without a dress? As we move into the autumn season, I'm trying a different style of dress- the shirt dress. Shirt dresses are one of my favorite styles, because they're super easy to dress up or down, and either way, they look extremely sophisticated.
As part of the Versicolor Closet x The Coco Gawdess (that's VersiCoco to you) collab, I created a neutral look centered around a work-appropriate dress. I love the black-and-white windowpane print of this shirt dress. It's a modern, yet clean and classy print in a traditional button-up style. Boohoo has a great selection of shirt dresses, in a variety of styles, materials and prints! The lightweight material is perfect for transitioning from summer into fall, and the long-sleeves are great for those cooler nights. Later in the season, add a knit sweater or long cardigan to layer the look, adding depth and warmth.
To keep this look office-appropriate, I added black leggings underneath. Depending on the weather and how deep into fall we are, play around with the thickness of the leggings. If you're more adventurous than I am, feel free to add a different color legging. Be sure to consult Edwina on that one, though.
Naturally, with leggings comes boots! Thigh-high and over-the-knee boots are still in this season, thankfully! I'm keeping my heel under 4-inches, for comfort during those days when the walk from your desk to the printer seems more like a marathon. Look for a boot thats not too high in length and in height, and that doesn't have a lot of detail that will clash with the print of the dress. Add a chunky statement necklace (or a more understated chain if your office is less-colorful) and BAM! Easy fall office styling!
