Last Day of Summer.
Today’s outfit was built around the main focus, this black and white striped midi skirt. While horizontal striped can be tricky (they can make you look wider!), I decided I wanted to play on the pattern and colors of this bodycon skirt. I knew I wanted to go for the same stripe detailing on top, but I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with thick lines. By using a top (it’s actually a dress!) with thinner black stripes and thick white stripes, I made this outfit a little bit easier on the eyes.
The thick black bow on the skirt breaks up the pattern so it’s not monotonous.
I continued the black-and-white monochromatic color scheme by adding these shoes.
I love that these shoes are so comfortable and have an almost sneaker-like aesthetic, without looking like those sneaker heels (yikes!). They can be worn with a casual or dressy outfit.
Because there’s so much going on with these stripes, even though they are black and white, I decided to keep the make-up and jewelry simple. I love rings and I almost never leave the house with less than 5 on. These rings are some of my new favorites. I feel so Rihanna-esque in them. And of course, my rose gold watch.
I hope you guys enjoyed this look. Let me know what you think and how you feel about this Jailhouse Monochrome look!
