Okay, now that's better.
If you read yesterday's post, you know my life was in shambles, and yours might have been too. But today's a new day!
I've got 3 ways to get over the hump this week, with just one outfit! I'm taking a simple trend and making it winter-appropriate while giving you day, night and weekend options. Denim-on-denim is a quick and easy look to put together. I chose denim pieces in the same wash to neutralize the look, and paired them with all neutral pieces and a few colorful accessories! Besides the denim, the other key pieces of this look are my camel-colored coat and fur collar.
You can check out my YouTube video on styling and transitioning your denim here.
Look 1: Day.
This look is probably my favorite and the one that I ended up wearing today. I paired my denim-on-denim with my favorite cognac booties. I also added a small bib necklace to make it less casual, and a burgundy clutch for color. The burgundy color, quilted texture and gold chain of the bag make it an appropriate choice because none of the elements compete with the look.
@@Coco Note: Remember, Complement, not Compete.@@
Look 2: Night.
This look is movie, dinner and girls night out appropriate. Keeping the key pieces the same, I switched out my booties for nude peep toe pumps. I added some "pizzazz" to the look by switching out the small bib necklace and burgundy clutch for a large multi-hued bib necklace and a sparkly clutch. Again, both items are in the same color family as the key pieces in the look, so they don't compete.
Look 3: Weekend.
Cheers to the weekend! Now, this is where we have fun. I switched out my heels for some FLATS. Naturally, I went with a leopard print. @@Repeat after me, leopard print is a neutral.@@ Since we're working with "neutral" prints, I decided to make the look a little more playful by adding a floral cross-body bag. Because the bag is small and blue, it neither overpowers the look nor emphasizes the mix of prints.
