This weekend I had the pleasure of attending another event hosted by Claire Sulmers of Fashion Bomb Daily, Cocktails with Claire; this time in collaboration with Miss Diddy. Think Fashions Night Out x Drinks x Food.Read More
All black and a pop of pastel, where have we seen this before? Yes, I know: Real original, Coco.
I'm a firm believer that one of the basic rules of thumb when it comes to slaying consistently is keeping it simple. I like working with a simple color palette or simple textures and finding ways to make them pop.Read More
I had the pleasure of attending an art exhibition curated by Ms. Lauryn Hill, in collaboration with Haitian Cultural Exchange, MoCADA and Nader Haitian Art. The Diaspora Calling! exhibit was held in the lobby of the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY. I may be biased, but Haitian art is my favorite art- the colors, themes and vibrancy are unmatched. The beautiful gold and red old-Hollywood style of the theatre was like an art piece in itself, with opera house and palace-like elements at every turn.Read More
As a native New Yorker, the thought of going into Times Square is dreadful enough to propel me into hives. There are, however, those rare occasions where I feel like a tourist, captured by the big lights and city streets.
The infamous red stairs are particularly special to me, so I'm [almost] always happy to visit them. Although it is officially Spring, the weather hasn't quite caught up with the times, so I've slowly begun to incorporate Spring elements into my outfits.Read More
I'm not sure if i'm trying to slay away the snow that's in the forecast for this weekend or what. I'm doing everything I can to bargain with Mother Nature, at this point.
This is one of my favorite dresses. It's extremely versatile, in that it can be worn in every season and for multiple occasions. It can be paired with flats, boots, heels or sandals. It came with a removable tan belt, so you can switch it out with another color, like the black and gold one I added.Read More
I love coordinates. The idea and look of a matching set, or a monotone look, has always been appealing to me. Much like a romper, its an effortless outfit.
However, matching sets can get redundant and expensive. They all come in pretty much the same styles and materials. It can also be difficult to find pieces in the same color and tone for a monotone look.
Here, I'm pairing two separate pieces to create a semi-matching, semi-monotone set.Read More
Happy International Women's Day!
The sun is out again, so naturally, so is my skin!
Just kidding, it's just a cropped sweater. I'm not even used to this. To be honest, this entire outfit is outside of my norm, but I figured I'd switch it up a bit.Read More
Simplicity. Such an interesting word. Acceptable, commendable, even desirable at times. But in all seriousness, why would one ever want to be simple? The word itself warns you of the repercussions.Read More
When they said beauty is pain, they really weren't lying.
I've been battling the worst toothache for the past few days and it's killing me. Half of my face is swollen, and every word seems to now have an "S" at the end.
Nonetheless, slay we must.
@@Coco Notes: Sundays are for slaying.@@Read More
Mother Nature is back with a vengeance. It. Is. Cold.
I don't know about you, but when I hear cold weather I think of onions.
Okay, so what I really mean is, I think of layers. It seems like labels aren't putting out warm fabrics for afforable prices, and it's not too often that you find cashmere on clearance. So during the winter months, I always start of my look with basics: a long-sleeved shirt and a pair of leggings.Read More
I love a good Versace anything, to be honest. Something about the classic gold chainlink print on a silk blouse!
But since Versace chainlinks cost Versace coin, I've suddenly found that Versace-inspired pieces need love too.Read More
Swank Blue. Not only the name of the label of this skirt, but also a great way to describe this look.
This past weekend I attended my very first themed brunch. Not your average Candyland or Alice in Wonderland theme, but a Kate Spade theme! Guests were asked to wear prints like floral, polka dot, striped and paisley, and/ or pastel colors. Now being that I am already lacking in the print and pastel area of my wardrobe, the cool weather we’ve been experiencing in the mornings and early afternoons made this task especially difficult.Read More
Yesterday was one of my favorite holidays, Easter Sunday! Ever year since I was born I've worn a brand new outfit on Easter Sunday. The new outfit, for me, symbolizes a fresh start. New clothes to wear in our new lives. Just like at our baptism, when we're given new clothes to wear.
Coco Note: I mean, would you wear dirty clothes after you took a shower?Read More

As much as I hate to admit it, I have been waiting for the “right time” to wear this jacket for months! I received this Alexander Wang x H&M Scuba Look top as a birthday gift from my younger brother—shoutout to the bro gawd!—back in November, and had yet to wear it, until this past weekend!
My friend and designer of Fide by Mel D. was participating in the Pink Carpet Affair fashion show in Harlem, NY, and as PR for the line, I was invited to attend and be backstage! It was also one of the coldest days ever, so I decided that it would be the perfect chance to debut the sweater.
Coco Note: Does it not look like the Michelin Man meets waist trainer?! I look like Popeye y’all.Read More
