Who says you can't wear sandals in the rain? Not I, said the cat. This is my ideal Friday workday outfit. Essentially, a leather suit and badass shoes.Read More
Not sure where the faux-spring weather went, but I hope it's back soon. Seems like one of those "This preview is over. To see more, please subscribe." traps.
This outfit makes me think of Texas. It could be the hat, possibly the trees, or maybe even because the first time I wore leather pants I was in Houston.
It's probably because although it looks sunny out, it's kind of cold. I bet it's not cold in Texas.
Coco Note: It's not, it's 73 degrees. It's okay, don't think about it.Read More
Mondays have always had a bad reputation of being the worst day of the week. I get it- the weekend is over, the work-week begins, farewell to the fun. What if I told you there was one simple secret to beating the Monday blues?Read More
Sometimes all a well put-together outfit requires is sticking to the basics. In this case, a black-and-white color palette and a universal silhouette.Read More
Simplicity. Such an interesting word. Acceptable, commendable, even desirable at times. But in all seriousness, why would one ever want to be simple? The word itself warns you of the repercussions.Read More
When they said beauty is pain, they really weren't lying.
I've been battling the worst toothache for the past few days and it's killing me. Half of my face is swollen, and every word seems to now have an "S" at the end.
Nonetheless, slay we must.

Mother Nature is back with a vengeance. It. Is. Cold.
I don't know about you, but when I hear cold weather I think of onions.
Okay, so what I really mean is, I think of layers. It seems like labels aren't putting out warm fabrics for afforable prices, and it's not too often that you find cashmere on clearance. So during the winter months, I always start of my look with basics: a long-sleeved shirt and a pair of leggings.Read More
As much as I hate to admit it, I have been waiting for the “right time” to wear this jacket for months! I received this Alexander Wang x H&M Scuba Look top as a birthday gift from my younger brother—shoutout to the bro gawd!—back in November, and had yet to wear it, until this past weekend!
My friend and designer of Fide by Mel D. was participating in the Pink Carpet Affair fashion show in Harlem, NY, and as PR for the line, I was invited to attend and be backstage! It was also one of the coldest days ever, so I decided that it would be the perfect chance to debut the sweater.
Coco Note: Does it not look like the Michelin Man meets waist trainer?! I look like Popeye y’all.Read More
Floppy hats are one of my favorite year-round accessories! They come in many sizes, colors and textures that make them appropriate through all the seasons. I love a good LARGE straw floppy hat in the summer (a MUST for vacations!) and a smaller wool floppy hat in the fall and winter.
In my humble opinion, there is nothing better than a floppy hat and leather. Nothing.
Unless you add leopard print and a brownie. Which, of course, I did. You're welcome.Read More
Let's face it. We all want to look like the celebrities, but are we willing to pay celebrity money? Uhh, nah.
It's a good thing that where there's a will, there's a copy!
An inspired piece or look, if you will.
This look was inspired by one of my favorite Coco Gawdesses, Gabrielle Union.Read More
If you haven’t heard of Karla Deras of Karla’s Closet, you surely are missing out. I visit Karla’s blog often, especially when i’m missing my dose of crop tops, pencil skirts and menswear on women. Karla often creates mood boards to give her readers an idea of what inspires her. She recently posted a compilation of visuals that inspire her style and the content on her blog in a post titled “Do You.” I loved the idea of really zoning in on the elements that inspire your style, whether it be in fashion or in life. So taking a note from Karla, I put together the above mood board: LIFE edition of all the things and people that inspire me.Read More
